qBittorrent 3.2.3 Released: Installation and Upgrade

qBittorrent is a lightweight bittorrent client for Linux and other platforms. It's specialty compared to Deluge or Transmission for the ease of installation and configuration. This post introduces the recently released qBittorrent 3.2.3 and 3.2.2 updates that were released on August 2 and August 1, 2015 respectively.

What's New in qBittorrent 3.2.3 and 3.2.2?

Since our last publication, covering the 3.1.12 release, qBittorrent introduced a few releases introducing new features and addressing minor fixes.

qBittorrent 3.2.3 comes with following minor fixes:

  • BUGFIX: Fix crash when closing a search tab while search is running (pmzqla)
  • SEARCH: Other minor search fixes and improvements (pmzqla)

qBittorrent 3.2.2 comes with a few features and fixes:

  • FEATURE: Allow to force reannounce DHT too (Chocobo1)
  • FEATURE: Implement an option to disable confirmation of torrent recheck (blaxspirit)
  • FEATURE: Allow to copy all the trackers with a keyboard shortcut (pmzqla)

  • BUGFIX: Fix localhost address (::ffff:127.0.0.1) is not recognized when connecting to WebUI (Chocobo1)

Upgrade Instructions

If you have not added the PPA repository yet, then add it first using the following command:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:qbittorrent-team/qbittorrent-stable

Then update your packages cache and upgrade:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

On Windows, you can install qBittorrent v3.2.3 by running the latest .exe from here and overwriting the existing installation.
